The New York School of Homeopathy offers mentorship-based instruction led by Susan Sonz and brings the most distinguished homeopaths from around the world to our program, introducing students to a wide range of advanced contemporary thinking.
Susan Sonz C.C.H., I.H.C.
Director and Principal Instructor
Susan Sonz has been the Director and Principal Instructor of the New York School of Homeopathy since 1999. She is a Certified Classical Homeopath (C.C.H.) and holds the International Homeopathic Certification (I.H.C.). Susan is an internationally recognized teacher who has trained hundreds of homeopaths.
She serves on the board of the North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH) and has contributed articles to leading homeopathic publications. Susan practices and teaches from both New York City and Negril, Jamaica, where she runs NYSH’s annual clinical workshop.
Alyssa Brickey
NYSH Administrator
Alyssa Brickey brings a rich background in healthcare to her role as NYSH Administrator. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 2007 and a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) since 2015. She has also taught at CT State College since 2016, combining her passion for education with her healthcare expertise.
Birgit Kleinfeld C.C.H., I.H.C.
Instructor
Birgit Kleinfeld is an NYSH graduate who has returned to teach “Homeopathy for Trauma and Acute Conditions.” Originally from Germany, she holds a background in mathematics and biology. Her teaching integrates her clinical experience with her deep understanding of acute prescribing.
Anjana Suresh
Associate Instructor
Anjana Suresh graduated from NYSH in 2021. She holds a BS in Electronics Engineering and has worked as a software engineer for over 15 years at organizations including GE and Bank of America. At NYSH, she manages the school’s online learning platform and assists with instruction, bringing both technical expertise and homeopathic knowledge to her role.
Elena Mashalova I.H.C.
Anatomy & Physiology Instructor
Elena Mashalova holds a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from Einstein College of Medicine. She teaches anatomy, physiology, and microbiology at Mercy College in New York and brings rigorous scientific grounding to NYSH’s foundational science coursework.
Dr. Divya Chhabra
Guest Instructor
Dr. Divya Chhabra graduated in 1989 from a homeopathic medical college in Mumbai and has since become a renowned international teacher. She is known for her innovative “Leap to the Simillimum” case-taking methodology and teaches at seminars around the world.
Dr. Paresh Vasani
Guest Instructor
Dr. Paresh Vasani is a member of the Bombay School and the developer of Vital Quest Software, a tool used by homeopaths worldwide. He is the President of the Association for International Homeopathic Certification (AIHC) and teaches his Synergy System of homeopathic case analysis at seminars internationally.
Robert Stewart R.S.Hom (NA), C.C.H.
NYSH Emeritus
Robert Stewart has been involved in homeopathy since 1980. He helped develop the Atlantic Academy of Classical Homeopathy and founded the New York School of Homeopathy in 1990. He is a former president of the New York State Homeopathic Association (NYSHA) and a trained Waldorf teacher.
